Baptism

Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open
and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. Mark 1:10

"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried, therefore, with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” - Romans 6:3-4

The Sacrament of Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons (and daughters) of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission...”
- Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1213)

Becoming Catholic

If you’re an adult seeking Baptism or thinking about becoming Christian, your next step is Vantage Point.

For the grace of Baptism to unfold, the parents’ help is important. So too is the role of the godparent, who must be firm believers, able and ready to help the newly baptized on the road of Christian life. CCC1255

Question asked of godparents: Are you ready to help the parents of this child in their duty as Christian (Catholic) parents?
